THE BEST MEDICINE-
LAUGH!

SECOND DOSE
Last night, my friend and I
were sitting in the living
room and
I said to her, "I never want
to live in a vegetative
state, dependent on
some machine and fluids
from a bottle. If that ever
happens, just pull the
plug."

She got up, unplugged the
TV, and threw out my wine

Normal Waist Size for a Man--Calculate Your Waist to Hip Ratio

"Fighting trim".  That's how boxing trainers describe whether a man is
ready to step into the ring.  It means broad, strong shoulders and a
compact, rock-hard waist.

But what is the ideal waist size for a man?  What is fighting trim, these
days? As you might expect, recommendations vary.

Under the guidelines of the International Diabetes Federation, a normal
waist measurement for a man is 38 inches or less.

Many doctors are even more stringent,
recommending a target of  35
inches for a man.

Your height matters of course.  A man who is 6 feet tall will have a larger
waist than a man is 5 feet 4, even though both may look fit.

Take Tiger Woods for example. Tiger is 6'2".  His waist size is 28 inches.
This is why he looks superfit.

Shaq -Shaquille O'Neal --is 7'1". His waist size when he was younger and
played for the Orlando Magic was 50 inches.   So, take into account your
height when you set your target waist size.

How to Measure Your Waist

To measure your waist line, stand in front of a mirror with your feet apart.
Take a tape measurement of your waist just about an inch above your belly
button.

Waist to Height Chart--How Do You Stack Up?

On the next page, we have put together a chart of the range of waist line
measurements that are considered healthy for men of different heights.  The
column titled Waist-to-Height Ratio is a way to tell if you are considered
overweight or at an unhealthy waist line measurement.  There is more of
this measurement just below the chart.
