Bubba Watson is the 2012 Masters Golf champion. In a thrilling sudden death playoff, Watson carded a 10 under 278 over 4 days, outlasting South African Louis Oosthuizen, in the second hole of a sudden death playoff. As the day started, it looked like Phil Mickelson was the man to beat. He entered the final round tied for the lead at 7 under. But a first-time ever double eagle on the par 5 2nd hole catapulted Oosthuizen into the lead at 10 under. Then Bubba sank birdie at 14 top get to 8 under, one behind the leader Oosthuizen. On 15, Bubba's second shot landed feet from the hole, and he closed the deal with a birdie, bringing him to 9 under. At 16, Bubba cashed in his 4th straight birdie. Watson missed a put to win the tournament outright at 18. But he was not to be denied. On the second hole of sudden death, Bubba sealed the deal. The Masters is more than golf tournament, as any fan of gold can tell you. It is more of a life achievement, and acceptance into one of the most exclusive clubs in the world because of who you are, because of what you've done. Symbolically, champions don't share the same locker room with the other players. They dress in the Champions' Locker room. Next year, the Champions' Locker room will have a new member -- Gerry "Bubba" Watson, Jr. Final Leaderboard 2012 Masters Augusta National 1 x-Bubba Watson 69 71 70 68 8 -4 -10 278 $1,440,000 2 Louis Oosthuizen 68 72 69 69 9 -3 -10 278 $864,000 T3 Peter Hanson 68 74 65 73 - +1 -8 280 $384,000 T3 Matt Kuchar 71 70 70 69 - -3 -8 280 $384,000 T3 Phil Mickelson 74 68 66 72 - E -8 280 $384,000 T3 Lee Westwood 67 73 72 68 - -4 -8 280 $384,000 7 Ian Poulter 72 72 70 69 - -3 -5 283 $268,000 T8 Padraig Harrington 71 73 68 72 - E -4 284 $232,000 T8 Justin Rose 72 72 72 68 - -4 -4 284 $232,000 T8 Adam Scott 75 70 73 66 - -6 -4 284 $232,000 11 Jim Furyk 70 73 72 70 - -2 -3 285 $200,000 T12 Fred Couples 72 67 75 72 - E -2 286 $156,800 T12 Sergio Garcia 72 68 75 71 - -1 -2 286 $156,800 T12 Hunter Mahan 72 72 68 74 - +2 -2 286 $156,800 T12 Graeme McDowell 75 72 71 68 - -4 -2 286 $156,800 T12 Kevin Na 71 75 72 68 - -4 -2 286 $156,800 T17 Ben Crane 69 73 72 73 - +1 -1 287 $124,000 T17 Bo Van Pelt 73 75 75 64 - -8 -1 287 $124,000 T19 Charles Howell III 72 70 74 72 - E E 288 $96,960 T19 Fredrik Jacobson 76 68 70 74 - +2 E 288 $96,960 T19 Francesco Molinari 69 75 70 74 - +2 E 288 $96,960 T19 Geoff Ogilvy 74 72 71 71 - -1 E 288 $96,960 T19 Brandt Snedeker 72 75 68 73 - +1 E 288 $96,960 T24 Jason Dufner 69 70 75 75 - +3 +1 289 $70,400 T24 Anders Hansen 76 72 73 68 - -4 +1 289 $70,400 T24 Paul Lawrie 69 72 72 76 - +4 +1 289 $70,400 T27 Keegan Bradley 71 77 73 69 - -3 +2 290 $56,800 T27 Jonathan Byrd 72 71 72 75 - +3 +2 290 $56,800 T27 Rickie Fowler 74 74 72 70 - -2 +2 290 $56,800 T27 Vijay Singh 70 72 76 72 - E +2 290 $56,800 T27 Scott Stallings 70 77 70 73 - +1 +2 290 $56,800 T32 Angel Cabrera 71 78 71 71 - -1 +3 291 $45,280 T32 Luke Donald 75 73 75 68 - -4 +3 291 $45,280 T32 Zach Johnson 70 74 75 72 - E +3 291 $45,280 T32 Sean O'Hair 73 70 71 77 - +5 +3 291 $45,280 T32 Nick Watney 71 71 72 77 - +5 +3 291 $45,280 T37 Sang-Moon Bae 75 71 69 77 - +5 +4 292 $37,600 T37 Thomas Bjorn 73 76 74 69 - -3 +4 292 $37,600 T37 Bill Haas 72 74 76 70 - -2 +4 292 $37,600 T40 Aaron Baddeley 71 71 77 74 - +2 +5 293 $32,000 T40 Rory McIlroy 71 69 77 76 - +4 +5 293 $32,000 T40 Henrik Stenson 71 71 70 81 - +9 +5 293 $32,000 T40 Tiger Woods 72 75 72 74 - +2 +5 293 $32,000 T44 Kevin Chappell 71 76 71 76 - +4 +6 294 $26,400 T44 Martin Kaymer 72 75 75 72 - E +6 294 $26,400 T44 Webb Simpson 72 74 70 78 - +6 +6 294 $26,400 T47 Patrick Cantlay 71 78 74 72 - E +7 295 - T47 Ross Fisher 71 77 73 74 - +2 +7 295 $22,560 T47 Steve Stricker 71 77 72 75 - +3 +7 295 $22,560 T50 Stewart Cink 71 75 81 69 - -3 +8 296 $19,960 T50 Robert Karlsson 74 74 77 71 - -1 +8 296 $19,960 T50 Charl Schwartzel 72 75 75 74 - +2 +8 296 $19,960 T50 David Toms 73 73 75 75 - +3 +8 296 $19,960 T54 Hideki Matsuyama 71 74 72 80 - +8 +9 297 - T54 Scott Verplank 73 75 75 74 - +2 +9 297 $18,800 56 Miguel Angel Jimenez 69 72 76 81 - +9 +10 298 $18,560 T57 Martin Laird 76 72 74 77 - +5 +11 299 $18,240 T57 Edoardo Molinari 75 74 76 74 - +2 +11 299 $18,240 T57 Y.E.
